The Phoenix Pro course offers professional & progressive, part time tuition for those wishing to pursue the performing and creative arts professionally or continue study after graduation.

Our course syllabus is based on a rolling tuition system flowing through a three year cycle of process based study. Each term Students participate in a variety of projects encompassing our core disciplines and industry specific modules to enhance, coach and develop new and existing skills which contribute directly to both level 4 and level 6 courses as well as top up training for those wishing to keep things fresh.

Taught by our team of established and experienced module leaders as well as an array of guest practitioners the Phoenix Pro course aims to prepare students for further study or sustainable living within the creative arts industries.

Dare to be Different

In an industry that is ever evolving with a multitude of paths to explore we wanted to give our students the opportunity to gain hands on experience from all angles of the creative arts.

From acting to producing, teaching to resilience training our Pro tuition offers students more than just performance opportunities. Working closely with our senior practitioners means that your process and development is the foundation of your time with us.

As well as this believe in sustainability and our aim is to give our students the skills and mindset necessary to live a full, creative and successful life through a wholistic approach to tuition and coaching with a firm focus on self development and progression.

Go Further - Go Pro

The diploma qualifications in Performance Arts are designed to appeal both to those aspiring to perform or teach professionally and those already involved professionally who are seeking to gain recognition for new or existing skills. They offer learners the opportunity to measure their development against a series of internationally understood benchmarks at two levels on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)

The Phoenix Pro course and Diploma programme is open to all candidates.

There is no requirement to have passed lower grade/diploma levels, or other qualifications. However, the grades and diplomas represent a system of progressive development and the outcomes for each level assume mastery of the outcomes of previous levels. We therefore recommend that candidates have taken the previous level particularly at these higher levels. There is no upper age limit but the following age minimums are recommended:

Tuition Only - 16+

Level 4 - 17+

Level 6 - 18+

Process

Based learning

Our module cycle has an emphasis on technical development and growth with a focus on personal process and self reflection.

By continually striving to fine-tune the artistic process we enable students to take their learning into their own hands as they grow from our guidance, from each other and as they reflect upon their own learning journey.

Project classes give students the ability to put their process into practice within longer, more detailed performance pieces alongside our sister production companies - Filmage Productions and The Steampunk Panto Company.

Our aim is to create intelligent and intuitive creatives who can communicate their experiences uninhibited.

Our study programme has a strong foundation in practical experience and discussion whereby we lead students through a variety of process based practices giving them a wealth of tools to utilise within their method.

Discussion and reflection is a key part of our coaching and we expect students to show initiative to share experiences and ideas as we discuss exercies within class and rehearsal.

Written reflection is also integral to all both graded courses within the PRO scheme and students will be expected to document each rehearsal process in detail in the aim to contribute to their yearly 'actors working notebook' submission.

Module Breakdown

The Phoenix Pro core modules are founded on the fundamental elements of production and performance. We aim to give students a wholistic insight into the complete creative process whilst coaching them to take a reflective and mindful approach to their own learning journey.

Each module applies both practical and theoretical technique into practice through weekly application and project specific exercises and production.

Tuition takes place during our five hour Sunday academy. Timetables are published at the beginning of each term and students will receive their project schedules prior to the first week of term - this includes written submission breakdowns and deadlines.

Additional projects are rehearsed outside of academy tuition hours and operate in conjunction to the PRO curriculum.

Our Modules:

Technical Acting

Project Practice

Dance & Movement

Vocal Studies

Film & Production

Resiliance Training

Professional Practice

Within the PRO course we provide students with yearly headshots inclusive of the course content.

Three headshots are provided digitally per student to be used for professional marketing purposes.

After one year of training with us we aim to provide students with a professional showreel of filmed material taken within their time at academy.

Each year we update student showreels and display them on our agency website.
